Hi; my name is Kelley Whitley. I’m a science educator, scuba diver, and lifelong artist with a deep love for the ocean. After 25 years of teaching college chemistry, my greatest joy has always been making science approachable for those who don’t think of themselves as “science people.”

As a diver, I’ve been lucky to witness the magic of coral reefs up close, But I worry that these fragile ecosystems–and the incredible life they support–won’t survive unless more people care, The problem is, most have never seen what’s at stake.

That’s why I started painting sea creatures: to capture their beauty, emotion, and individuality in a way that speaks to people. Through art, I hope to bring the underwater world to the surface–and inspire others to help protect it.
